DONATE

ELIE is currently in its start-up stage so we rely on the donation of peoples time and money.

Money

The medicines we administer are cheap to buy and mostly readily available however, reaching the domestic elephants in the outlying villages of Mondulkiri far exceeds the cost of medical supplies. At the moment we find our general Overhead is covered by our elephant related eco tourism activities but we still rely on donations from generous, donors, and fellow organizations to purchase items that are beyond our budget.

If you wish to help us in our work and in turn help the domestic elephants of Mondulkiri please send an email to jackhighwood@yahoo.co.uk to enquire about what we currently need in the way of materials and goods. Some examples include, simple multiway radios, clothing, western medicines that are unavailable in Cambodia and monies for Fuel and repairs to our Truck and motorbikes. We also encourage the sponsorship of education through partnership with other local NGO's if you would like sponser a student whose studies would benefit elephants in the future that also please drop us a line.

Time

If you are interested in coming to live in Cambodia and would like to immerse yourself in Khmer/Phnong culture, then there is no better place than Mondulkiri. We accept volunteers for short and long periods of time, we tailor tasks for the individual according to our needs and your skills. Unfortunately we cannot support volunteer expenses, and therefore volunteers are required to fund their own travel, accommodation, and other expenses.

We currently have 4 positions a week available for persons who would like to help us with our Elephant Valley Project. These are suitable for anybody over the age of 18 who is interested in not only in volunteering but also in donating (some of your payment goes to pay for wages, food and fuel when we have no visitors) to an elephant cause in which you are able to become an integral part. Experience of riding or control elephants is not essential as we will teach you all you need to know. Please follow this link if you wish to read more :

3rd year veterinarian students (and above) and veterinarians who wish to donate their time are more than welcome, we currently have a good support structure for veterinarian work, and a backlog of sick elephants that need assistance and/or treatment. Placements are for a minimum of 3 months, and the ability to ride a motorbike in this case is necessary, though we do a lot by car. If you have queries concerning any of the above positions please do not hesitate to contact us.
